What Is Your Age In Christ?

Believe it or not, your age as a Christian does not advance simply by the passing of time. We grow and mature as a Christian by building upon the first principles of the oracles of God.

Studying the Bible, making an effort to understand it, and applying it is what it takes to move from the milk of babes to solid food. We should all be teaching others as we strive toward perfection in Christ.

We cannot speak as the oracles of God if we do not know what the oracles of God proclaim. We cannot take the gospel to a lost world if we do not read about and understand the gospel and what it does for us!

Hebrews 5:12-14 (NKJV):

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.

14 But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Don’t end up like these Christians, being rebuked for their lack of effort in study and growth. Jesus told us in His sermon on the mount to “Be perfect as my Father in heaven is perfect.” We will never advance toward that lofty goal if we don’t dig our heels in and work toward it!

I hope everyone has a great week! If you have any questions or if you would like to study the Bible together, please contact me!
