Satan’s Most Terrifying Appearance
2 Corinthians 11:14 (NKJV)
"And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light."
When we think of Satan we think of fear, evil, wickedness, irreverence, trickery, and deception. Maybe we think of Satan taking on the appearance of a serpent in the garden of Eden. Although scary to us, there is nothing more terrifying than Satan appearing as an angel of light.
How can we resist him if we can’t identify him? The truth is, we can’t. You cannot resist the temptations of the devil if you cannot identify him. How is that fair? How can God judge us for something if we can’t identify it?
If God hadn’t given us a weapon to fight Satan with, it would be unfair. But we CAN identify Satan, even when he is disguised as an angel of light. We use the sword God has provided us with!
We hear a lot of false teachings if we listen to enough preachers on television, radio, and even in churches across our community. You might not realize you are listening to a false teacher, believing in a false doctrine, or worshiping in error. This happens all the time! Especially when we trust the preacher to interpret the scriptures for us, never giving an occasion to personal study of the scriptures.
The only way we can know the truth and not be deceived by a lie is to have the word of God written on our hearts! We will only be able to resist the temptations of the devil if we know the word.
