“It would take seeing a Miracle for me to believe in God”

“It would take seeing a Miracle for me to believe in God”

Wonderful! I can do you one better. I can show you a miracle that proves that God exists and the Bible is from Him.

Perfectly predicting the future is an undeniable miracle- especially when specific people or things from the prediction haven’t even been named or invented yet! Even more impressive is when the prediction takes place hundreds of years prior to the events predicted. The Scriptures are full of such predictions, and here is one example-

Search up “When was Psalm 22 written?” And also search “When was crucifixion invented?”

You will find that even scholars with the lowest view of inspiration (the authenticity of the bible) acknowledge the first 22 verses of the Psalm were written any time before the Babylonian Captivity, dated 587BC, with Jewish tradition attributing it to King David from ~1000BC.

Crucifixion, on the other hand, was first recorded in 519BC under Persian Emperor Darius.

The EARLIEST date of crucifixion occurs 68 years AFTER the LATEST date Psalm 22 could have been written- but why does that matter?

Psalm 22:16- “16 For dogs have surrounded Me; The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet” (NKJV)

The method of execution used to kill Jesus the Christ was predicted perfectly, well before the method was invented and HUNDREDS of years before He was even born. You don’t even have to take the Bible’s word for it. All credible (even atheist) historians acknowledge the crucifixion of Jesus of Nazareth as a historically verifiable fact, due to the extensive written evidence from unbiased historians contemporary to Him. Search it up.

How do we know Psalm 22 is talking about Jesus though? All of Psalm 22 perfectly predicts the circumstances of Jesus and His death, from the soldiers casting lots for His clothing, down to the people mocking Him-

Psalm 22:7- “7 All those who see Me ridicule Me; They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying, 8 “He trusted in the Lord, let Him rescue Him; Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

Luke 23:35- “And the people stood looking on. But even the rulers with them sneered, saying, “He saved others; let Him save Himself if He is the Christ, the chosen of God.”

36 The soldiers also mocked Him, coming and offering Him sour wine, 37 and saying, “If You are the King of the Jews, save Yourself.”

38 And an inscription also was written over Him in letters of Greek, Latin, and Hebrew:

THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

39 Then one of the criminals who were hanged blasphemed Him, saying, “If You are the Christ, save Yourself and us.”

Jesus even cried out as He was dying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” (Matt. 27:46b) That’s an exact quotation from the first line of Psalm 22, no doubt cluing in some of the onlookers to the incredible parallel taking place.

Therefore, seeing as Psalm 22 has predicted the future before, we must prepare for the part of it yet to be fulfilled-

Dripping with irony, the Psalmist identifies the Man who “cannot keep Himself alive” as the same One who will judge the dead:

Psalm 22:29- “All the prosperous of the earth Shall eat and worship; All those who go down to the dust Shall bow before Him, Even He who cannot keep Himself alive.”
